PERSONALITY

Kassie is free-spirited, passionate, and headstrong. Once she has her sights set on a destination, nothing can stop her. The only thing she loves more than treasure is the adventurous life of a pirate!


She has a positive outlook to the point of naivety, driven by her joy for exploration and piracy. She has the sentence to get tunnel vision, making her a bit careless. Sea creatures often get tangled in the net attached to her coat, but she’s unaware of it.

MAGIC

Kassie almost always keeps her right eye covered; beneath the eyepatch lies a secret. When she removes the eyepatch and opens her right eye, powerful divination magic is unleashed in a burst of radiant, golden light with a temporary blinding effect for Kassie and anyone else in close range.


When blinded by the flash, those affected by will see visions of valuable treasure and become enlightened on the path towards it. The strength of the flash controls the physical radius of the effect, but more powerful charges disable vision for a longer period of time.

FAMILIAR - TERRY

Tyrant the Terrible, Sinker of Ships, Scourge of the Seas is a draconic creature whose name strikes fear into the hearts of all seafarers. None have opposed Tyrant the Terrible and lived to tell the tale, so the full extent of his powers are unknown, but the rumors are grandiose.


Kassie refers to him by the affectionate nickname of Terry, and constantly dotes on him. She thinks it’s especially adorable when Terry requests snacks, such as crackers, in a parrot-like voice.

WORLD

Kassie sails the vast sea of Mars with her beloved pirate ship, the Unfair Maiden. Although the planet is nearly entirely covered in water, Kassie’s abilities have led to her discovering hidden coves where she can land to stash away treasure and snacks for Terry.


Kassie’s status among local myths is legendary. People whisper tales of her defeating legions of other pirates’ ships and fearsome sea creatures, and it’s rumored that her cartographic knowledge is unmatched.

  • Swashbuckling — Kassie not only loves being a pirate, but she’s extremely skilled at it, too. Her right arm is mechanical, modified to be able to shift into various forms such as a cutlass, flintlock pistol, and even a small cannon. She finds armed combat much more satisfying than using magic alone.
  • Cannons — Kassie loves everything about firing cannons, from the smell of gunpowder and the anticipation of firing, to the loud boom and sensation of ears ringing, and destroying anything that stands in her way.
  • Treasure  — If it sparkles or shines, Kassie is obsessed with it. Gold, gems, beautiful seashells, sea glass, and even rusted garbage - you’ll find all of these and more in Kassie’s hoards.
  • The Unfair Maiden — Kassie is a bit careless, but she takes good care of her ship. Although the name implies a ship of unforgiving nature, the ship’s original name was the Fair Maiden. Kassie renamed the ship after an accident rendered a small scratch on the side of the ship, near where the name is written. She sobbed uncontrollably at the thought that it was wrecked.
  • Her Loyal Crew — Kassie doesn’t have any human crewmates, but she considers her familiars, like Terry, part of both her family and crew.
  • Sea Shanties — Music is a great way to pass the time on a long expedition. A good song makes Kassie dance merrily.

💔 DISLIKES 💔

  • Laws — Kassie has a strong sense of freedom and doesn’t take kindly to others trying to control what is or isn’t allowed. If any rules stand in her way, she’ll challenge and crush them.
  • Landlubbers — People who have no sense of adventure are just the worst to Kassie. How boring!
  • Rum — It’s rumored that Kassie used to be a heavy drinker, but it’s unclear why she completely stopped. If asked directly, she’ll avoid the topic.
