PERSONALITY

Magical girl with a calm and elegant exterior, but filled with fire on the inside. Disinterested in other people and often gives the cold shoulder; comes off as self-interested, but is likely thinking about research. Loves cute things and fights to protect them. She wants to relax, but can’t stand stupidity or incompetency. When she fights, she projects an image of being unaware to ambush unsuspecting opponents, similar to deep sea creature predation strategies. Her spellcasting style is dramatic, though it doesn’t come from a place of wanting to show off.

MAGIC

Cerine uses powerful ice-based magic, and can manipulate water. Her magic staff can act as a form of air travel, similar to how a witch would ride a broom. She sits sidesaddle on the handle of the staff.

The belt around her waist is made out of a sturdy material and is used to descend/ascend in water, similar to how a submarine’s ballast tanks work.

Snow can float both in water and midair, and enjoys doing flips.

WORLD

Cerine lives on Mars, a planet entirely covered in water. There are very few land masses, mainly being artificially built by humans out of materials such as seashells, aquatic plants, or ice. Mars is quite technologically advanced, having developed equipment to aid in purifying sea water for drinking and electricity, as well as magic devices used for traversing the water.

Most Martians live in a centralized floating city, and don't believe in other civilizations, such as the Olympus of legend. Cerine believes that Olympus truly exists.

Underwater, there are species that resemble deep sea creatures from Earth, but many of them are much larger and/or have developed human-like features. One such species is the Sirena, mermaids with beautiful singing voices and aquatic features. They have their own cities underwater, but not much is known about them by the general human population because only witches are able to converse with them.

Mars is experiencing a climate disaster in which the sea is freezing over, threatening the homes of the sea creatures. Cerine is a researcher working on combating the disaster, although some non-witches are suspicious of those who can use ice magic.
